We like off-road trips because these are an amusing way to discover multiple natural areas on the same day and be surprised again and again by the unexpected. Also, we love that distinctive nature’s gifts may be seen while driving on off-road trails, all in one journey. Specially, we feel lucky when we meet Mother Earth’s offsprings for the first time during the drive, or when we are travelling a road where the only present are nature and us (including travel companions).
We gladly share our memories from an off-the-beaten path trip on hills close to a coastal zone in Municipality of Yabucoa, Puerto Rico. The course led us to terrific sightseeing. While surrounded by abundant foliage along the road, we could not take our eyes off the rest of the scenery. Extraordinary landscape views of Caribbean Sea and greenery stood out for their beautiful contrast of blue, dark green and yellowish green colors. A lovely beach with a lot of charming pebbles (rather than just sand) along with algae astonished us. Afterwards, we were amazed at a wide sea grape plantation (Coccoloba uvifera)—the elegance of these sea grapes is memorable. Intriguing round white fruits were found also along the way. The road guided us towards a hidden cozy beach on a creek. The most beautiful views of this beach and the impressive Caribbean Sea were seen from the top of a hill. Check out this article’s photo gallery. The pictures speak for themselves.
When we think about this trip in Yabucoa, we always cherish how nature took us by surprise. You may also find great pleasure from driving on off-road tracks to see secluded natural surroundings for the first time. So be adventurous and start planning which area you would like to travel for this type of recreation.
