A Personal Bond with Nature

One of the things that we find remarkable about nature explorations is enchantment when you least expect it—the experience when Mother Earth reveals a gift that magnetizes us. One of those special moments at the top of our list happened when we were kayaking on a lake on the Caribbean island of Puerto Rico. We had just begun our adventure and made our first stop to watch a scenery of orchids and shy plants pointed out by the tour guide, and suddenly we were mesmerized by two light pink water lilies on the lake. We felt an immediate attraction towards these flowers. We could not stop staring at them. We praised the water lilies’ beauty. The strangest thing was that we could not understand why our kayaking buddies and the tour guide were not as excited as us. Another odd thing was that we were charmed by these particular water lilies and not others in the nearby area. Following our reminiscence, we realized that our attraction towards these water lilies was beyond their beauty—their aura was the magnet. We were the only ones that sensed a profound connection with these flowers. Today we realized that it was personal.

Since every experience is unique, Mother Earth may surprise you by disclosing your water lilies. In other words, you may find nature’s gifts that fascinate you and only you. When that moment comes, take as much time as you need and can to admire and stare. The feelings of joy may be instant. Embrace the occasion as you do not know how long Mother Earth’s show will last. It may take seconds or more. However, memories will follow for a long time.

So, you may plan your next outdoor recreation and be aware while having no expectations about Mother Earth’s display. Let your water lilies be naturally unfolded.
