Magical Extreme Adventure Experiences in Puerto Rico

An ecotreasures’ Introspection about Special Connections with Nature
Publication of Discovery: March 31, 2019
Issue: March, 2019

Extreme adventures at nature allow people to connect with Mother Earth and appreciate its grand value. Even though the ways to get involved with nature and resulting feelings vary among human beings, it is good to highlight moments when nature’s charm was prominent.

Below we share a summary of the top five experiences in Puerto Rico that have stood out so far while enjoying extreme adventures due to the energy or special attraction the ecotreasures ® crew sensed in relation to these.

ecotreasures’ Top Five Magical Experiences during Extreme Adventures:

1) Swimming in Charco Azul Natural Pool on San Cristóbal Canyon

The ecotreasures adventurer was fascinated by Charco Azul’s grandeur. A profound immersion in nature took place―the adventurer, the water and the rest of the ecosystem became one.

Exploration: Extreme adventure tour in San Cristóbal Canyon, Municipality of Barranquitas, guided by Para La Naturaleza

2) Rappelling along El Salto Waterfall’s Rock Wall

The ecotreasures adventurer felt as if he was entering another dimension and the light filtering from above through the trees were transporting him to surrounding volcanic rocks.

Exploration: El Salto full-day tour guided by Rocaliza Adventure Tours in a private forest area in the city of Caguas

3) Body Rafting in Tanamá River

While body rafting along with other tour companions, in a railroad train-like position in Tanamá River, the ecotreasures crew member sensed the water and the adventurers’ energy and perceived a special connection with the water and other group members.

Exploration: Explora’s body rafting, river journey and caving tour in a private forest in the Municipality of Arecibo

4) Sport Climbing on over 400-feet Crag in the Municipality of Salinas

Climbing on this crag and seeing astonishing views of a subtropical moist forest, a subtropical dry forest, and an abundance of blues of the Caribbean Sea was breathtaking.

Exploration: Sport climbing along with Aventura Tierra Adentro’s owner and climbing instructor, Rossano Boscarino, on a conical hill rising over 2,000 feet (610 meters) above sea level and located in the Municipality of Salinas +

5) Feeling Fuente de la Juventud’s Energy

The ecotreasures adventurer sensed the energy of a small spring waterfall known as Fuente de la Juventud (Fountain of Youth) nearby Clara Cave in the Municipality of Camuy.

Exploration: Guided tour in Camuy River Cave Park, Municipality of Camuy ++

We suggest taking advantage of nature’s magic and letting yourself feel the personal bond with the natural surroundings while engaging in extreme adventures. Though you may like the outdoor recreation in general, it is rewarding to learn and hold dear the particular experiences that enchanted you.

+ Although Aventuras Tierra Adentro does not provide rock climbing guide services, you may contact such business for information about sport climbing spots in Puerto Rico.

++ Currently, the Camuy River Cave Park is not open to the public. For updates about its reopening date, you may contact the P.R. National Parks Program, Natural and Environmental Resources Department.
