Have you ever thought of engaging in rock climbing but have not had the courage to do so yet? Do you prefer giving climbing a try at the outdoors rather than indoors? Do you like indoor climbing? If you answered yes to any of these questions, you may like carrying out an outdoor recreation that allows you to climb in structures similar to those used for indoor climbing. We just did that and had a taste of this extreme sport in an adventure park in the countryside of Puerto Rico: Toro Verde. Mountains in the Municipality of Orocovis witnessed our effort while daring ourselves.
At the Climbing Towers site in Toro Verde, we confronted seven climbing challenges. The toughest ones were three climbing walls and a twisted green tower. Each of these had its own personality and charm. Two walls represent façades of a castle and an interesting red brick building, and the other resembled a grey cliff. The twisted green tower speaks for itself—look at the pictures in this article’s photo gallery. The climbing holds’ position in each of these structures influenced the level of difficulty. So we found each of these climbing spots to be distinctively appealing. Out of the four most difficult challenges, our favorite was the grey wall modeling a cliff. Besides the walls and the green tower, it was interesting to climb a spiderweb-like hanging net, rope ladder and rope-hanging tire framework. Even though you may associate the latter with traditional playground recreations for kids, they are not the same in terms of height.
Climbing at the above-mentioned site in Toro Verde entailed arduous effort, motor coordination, and concentration. As we reached the top of the cliff-like wall and three other climbing attractions, and partially climbed the others, we performed a lot of physical exercise. Also, staying focused on the tasks required to be calm. This climbing recreation turned out to be a great alternative to relax while doing an extreme adventure and enjoying mountain views. Definitely, we want to return to achieve the mission of improving skills to climb two of the walls.
